A new mobile app has been releaed for smartphones and mobile devices to promote increased parental and stakeholder engagement and enhance communication.
Community Affairs and our Technology team have been working with Blackboard in recent months to develop and finalize the application so information about the district can be easily accessed from any mobile device.
The app is free and is now available in the online iTunes and Google Play app stores. The app will allow users to sign up for important notifications from each school and from the school district; users can choose to receive push notifications to get breaking news and updates about school closures, calendar changes, or even bus delays. It can also be customized by the user by selecting the schools they are most interested in for news and updates.
“Keeping the community, parents and students engaged with the schools and school district is a priority,” said Superintendent Stout. “Our new mobile app does just that, as the many features included will allow everyone to stay updated about all the great things going on in OCS.”
