  • Early Release Annoucement

Posted by Amanda West on 5/14/2021

As the academic year comes to a close, schools across the state are preparing to give End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) exams. Students who have been in virtual schools also need to take their exams, and current state guidelines require these tests be done in-person. To ensure enough space for our virtual school students, all OCS middle schools will be releasing early on Tuesday, May 25th, Wednesday, May 26th, and Thursday, May 27th. Trexler's designated dismissal time on these days will be 11:15am.  We wanted to let our families know now so you can begin preparations. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we work together to support our virtual school students.  Please stay healthy and well and enjoy the weekend.

  • Morning Drop-off Changes After Spring Break

Posted by Jerri Sydes on 3/26/2021

Due to changes after spring break and all students returning to school 5 days a week starting on April 6th, the morning drop-off procedure has changed.  Starting March 22nd temperatures and COVID Screening questions will no longer be done in the commuter lot.  Drop off starts at 6:45am, the students may exit their cars and head to their homeroom teacher’s classroom where they will be asked the COVID Screening questions and have their temperatures checked.  We ask that when dropping off your student(s) please pull all the way up in the commuter lot allowing as many cars as possible to drop off their student(s).  If it is past 7:15am we ask that the student(s) are dropped off at the front office to check in.

Pick up times will remain the same and a staggered dismissal will continue to take place.  6th grade will be dismissed at 2:05, followed by 8th grade at 2:10 & finally 7th grade at 2:15.  All students who are walking to cars that are parked will be crossing in one designated location to ensure their safety.  We ask that as you are picking up your students you pull all the way up in the car line and allow your student(s) to walk to the car.   Thank you!

    Old RES Bricks

We are excited to share that OCS will be distributing memorial bricks from the old Richlands Elementary School on December 16! Those who had already emailed the district and requested a brick by December 11 can pick theirs up between 9 and 11 a.m. in the front parking lot of Richlands High School. All others can pick up a brick on a first-come, first-served basis later that day between 3 and 5 p.m. There will be no cost for the memorial bricks, but those who request a brass marker for their brick will be asked to consider giving a $5 cash donation to cover the cost of the marker. Credit and debit cards cannot be accepted for any donations.
