Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Garcia

A native of Concord, North Carolina, I just moved back to my home state after teaching Deaf students in an ASL program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  While I enjoy the culture of bigger cities, it is always good to come home!

I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Deaf Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Development from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This is my 25th year of teaching, with my experience spanning four states: North Carolina, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia. I have also received training as an Educational Interpreter when living in Virginia.

My interests include knitting, learning how to paint with acrylics, archery, watching British Television and movies, museums, art, acrylic painting and reading. Historical Fiction and Sci-Fi/Fantasy are my favorite genres; with Ken Follett’s The Kingsbridge Novels:  Pillars of the Earth, World Without End, A Column of Fire being some of my most favorite reads.
