Meet the MFLC

 Hello! Welcome to Jacksonville Commons MS!  I am Janiqua Obey, MSW, LCSW, and I am your Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC). This is my 2nd year as an MFLC in the school system, and I am excited and looking forward to meeting and working with you all to overcome any challenge that may arise! With the pandemic, I am sure you all have witnessed and experienced so many changes socially, emotionally, and mentally. It has been draining. For those reasons, I am here as an additional support to provide assistance to students and families who are military connected. I can provide services both at school and virtually via telephone or video-conferencing for when you are at home.   

On this page, I have included information about MFLC services for students and families as well as resources to assist with your family's needs.  For students to be apart of this program, Parental Permission is required for one on one and group services and students are given a permission form during their school day. If your student has not received a form, you may request a form from me and/or simply 'click' this link Military Connected Services Consent Form, complete the form and return it back to school.
