Ms. Nicole Wittenborn

Hello Families!

For those of you that are new to Southwest High School, my name is Ms. Nicole Wittenborn. This is my third year at SWH and year 4.5 teaching. I was an EC teacher’s assistant for 5 years. I then taught one semester of K-2 resource and inclusion. I was then asked to teach a K-5 General separate setting class for a year. Southwest HS felt like “home” from my first day!!

Prior to working in the public-school system, I was a preschool teacher and then Director of a child development center here in Onslow County. I worked for the same center for 9 years. I have my AAS in Early Childhood, my BA in Social Sciences with an education concentration, and am currently in grad school at ECU working on my Master’s in Education- Special Education with a concentration in low-incidence disabilities. I am licensed to teach both Adaptive and General curriculum for grades K-12.

I am originally from a small town in southern Illinois and moved to Jacksonville in 2000. I lived in Hawaii for 2 years and moved back in 2009. I am single mom to four amazing daughters, Maddy (20- junior year at UNC-CH), Macensi (18- freshmen year at ECU), Morgan (16- junior at SWH), and Abby (12- 7th grade at SWM). I also have two fur-babies, Chewy and Piper and a grandpuppy, Sammy.

I am looking forward to being your child’s teacher this year. I believe that if we work together as a team, we can make this a successful year for your student. I can be reached via phone 910-455-4888, email nicole.wittenborn@onslow.k12.nc.us student communication log, or through Remind.
