Mr. Chester

Hi, I'm your math teacher this semester.  I was born in Brentwood, NY and have lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Quantico, Virginia (Three different times); Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and arrived in Jacksonville, North Carolina in April 1989.  Last count, I think I've visited over 30 countries while I was a Marine.  I taught math at JHS for 20.5 years along with being the Math Department Chair, a Football Coach and a Baseball Coach.  I've primarily been an honors math teacher, teaching mostly Math II (H), Math III (H), Pre-Calculus and AP Stat.  I've also taught Principles of Engineering, Tech Math I and II along with Algebra I.  I have a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan, an AAS in Accounting from Coastal Carolina Community College and a High School Math Certification from East Carolina University.  I retired on my 61st birthday in 2018 and I and my wife of 41 years started traveling.  We've been to Europe twice since retiring, taking river cruises down the Danube and Rhine, also visiting France and Hungary.  We've spent about 3 weeks in the Dominican Republic at Punta Cana and Puerto Plata.  We even took a Caribbean Ocean Cruise.  I'm excited about being your math teacher this semester and I hope you're looking forward to learning some MATH!
