Degrees and Certifications:

I completed my undergraduate work at Buffalo State College receivinga Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. As a certification requirement, all teachers in NY must obtain a Master's Degree. I attended Canisius College and earned a Master's Degree in Teaching Reading. I also hold an additional Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in e-Learning from Concordia University. Through the state of North Carolina, I am certified to teach Elementary K-5, Reading K-12 and Gifted Services K-12.

Mrs. Amy Hartman

I have worked for Onslow County Schools for the last 16 years. I began as a Title I Reading Specialist at Sand Ridge Elementary. I also taught kindergarten there and became a Gifted Specialist. Other schools where I worked include Queens Creek Elementary, Swansboro Elementary, Stateside Elementary and Morton Elementary. Currently, I work between Jacksonville Commons Elementary and Hunters Creek Elementary as the K-2 Gifted Specialist. Prior to moving to NC, I taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades in Buffalo, NY.

I live with my husband and our three fur babies. We have a dog named Blue and cats named Neo and Scratch.
