Mrs. Brandi Workman
“I have a heart for young people and am honored to work with families to educate and help develop their child by tending to their hearts and their minds."
This year I am the 6th Grade and 8th Grade Science teacher for Onslow Virtual School and absolutely LOVE virtual teaching and learning. While virtual teaching is not an ideal setting for all students, it is definitely beneficial for many. It is my heart's desire to make learning interactive and engaging using the latest technology and digital materials to guide my students on a virtual learning adventure.
I was born in Dallas, Texas and will forever be a Texas gal through and through! (Go Cowboys and Rangers!) I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from UNCW and a Masters Degree in Education (Concentration in Administration & Supervision in addition to School Counseling) from Liberty University. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership along with a Masters in School Administration with the aspiration of becoming an Instructional Coach and school administrator in the future. I have been educating children for approximately twelve years now and have an intense desire to see children enjoy learning. I am married to a retired U.S. Marine, have four children ages 29, 26, 21, and 13, and have made Jacksonville my home for the last fifteen years. I was blessed with my first grandchild, who will be THREE in February.
I have been fortunate enough to travel to and live in many places, such as San Francisco and San Diego, California; New Orleans, Louisiana; Pensacola, Florida; and Poughkeepsie, New York. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do - especially road trips with visits to our National and State Parks. I love to experience new cultures and especially enjoy trying new restaurants. I love singing and music of all kinds and am an avid genealogist. My grandmother and I researched our family lineage for over twenty years together until her passing two years ago because of COVID. I continue that legacy. I am a life-long learner as my father always encouraged me to be and strive to make my class a place where students can also enjoy learning, sharing, and developing into thinkers and doers to make our world a better place! I continue to serve others in honor of my father who spent his life serving as a sailor, husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend.
