B. of A., Early Childhood Education M. of A., Curriculum and Instruction, focus on Inclusive Classroom

Amy Ferguson

I have been in the education field since 2004.  I began my career as a 3rd grade teacher, but quickly realized I wanted to work in the special education setting.  From 2008 until 2022, I taught special education at multiple grade levels in Ohio, California, and North Carolina.  Last school year, I left the classroom to become a Behavior Coach for the district.  I spend my days traveling around to the different schools in the county assisting teachers with instruction, class management, and meeting many staff members and students.  I am grateful to have my office at Northside, where my oldest son attends.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on the inclusive classroom.  I am currently enrolled in post-graduate classes to become a Behavior Analyst.  With my husband recently retiring from the Marine Corps, my children and I are excited that we get to call Jacksonville home, and I am happy I get to continue my career in Onslow County!
