Mrs. Jennifer Hulst
Welcome to my webpage!!!!
My name is Mrs. Hulst. I have been blessed to be teaching for 15 years. This is my second year at Onslow County Schools. Prior to OCS, I taught 3rd grade at Rose Hill-Magnolia in Duplin County for four years. Before teaching in NC, I was a Preschool Teacher for over 8 years. I also taught both kindergarten and first grade, along with two short-term positions where I taught sixth grade physical science and sixth grade English. In addition to teaching, I was a Behavior Specialist and Mobile Therapist for two years.
My family and I moved to the area from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2015 and I currently reside in Hampstead with my husband Ken and my two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kyra. We also have a dog named Durham and a cat named Patches.
I look forward to the start of school and teaching your child. I believe the key to success is consistency. I pledge to give 100% to your child and will do everything I can to educate them. I am asking you to do the same at home. Whether it is reading a book to your child each night, allowing them to play educational games online, or ensuring that your child completes his or her homework each night, working together is extremely important. This year may be a challenge and not what we are used too but I am confident that we are going to learn and grow to the best of our ability. We utilize a growth mindset in my classroom and encompass our Leader in Me 7 Habits.
My classroom is a bully free zone and any form of bullying will not be tolerated. We will follow our classroom and OVS online rules daily and exercise respect, kindness, and friendship at all times. In my classroom WE ARE FAMILY.
Feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible. I strongly encourage ALL parents to sign up for Class Dojo. I use this mostly to post pictures of our learning, send messages/communication, as well as any behavior/academic concerns.
I look forward to working with you and your child. I am confident we will have a successful year.
