Degrees and Certifications:

Patricia Meek

Welcome to Our Class!

My name is Ms. Patricia (Trish) Meek and I am very excited to work with you and your child. I have been teaching special education students since 1991 after graduating from Kean University in Union, New Jersey.  In 2006, I moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, where I taught various grade levels of students for New Hanover and Onslow County Schools.

In 2011, I worked very hard to attain my National Board Certification as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. In 2013, I graduated summa cum laude from Kaplan University with a Masters of Science in Teaching with Technology.

I have three wonderful adult children who I love hiking, camping, or biking with. I enjoy gardening, crafting, and yoga and look forward to sharing my love of these hobbies with your children.

If you come into my classroom, you will see a welcoming, creative learning environment where students can sit together and collaborate or find a quiet corner to read, think, or draw. Supplies for students are easily accessible, since they are encouraged to find ways to explore learning through writing, drawing, reading, science, or game-play.

In the classroom, I expect everyone to show respect for others, be kind to self and others, and take risks by exploring different ways to learn.

Parents are encouraged to email or call me at school any time with questions or concerns. I love to share ideas and stories about your child with you and look forward to a great partnership in educating your child.
