Mrs. Chin Hardware

Hi, I am an international teacher of English. I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica, home of Reggae music and the fastest man in the world! I am so excited to share in a cultural exchange with my students and their families.

A Little Bit About Me

I studied at the University of Wolverhampton in England, where I received a double major in English and Education Studies. I am currently doing a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

I began my career teaching conversational Spanish to college students. After that, I taught IT, vocational courses, fourth grade and then I later began teaching high school English in 2008. I also taught Business Communication to young adults at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean.  This is my fourteenth year teaching high school. I have been fortunate enough to teach in far-off places such as England and Jamaica, so you are in for a global treat!

I enjoy debating and I have coached many debating teams.  Two of my teams have won national awards. I love writing poems and short stories and I have set a personal goal of becoming a published author.  four years ago, I won national awards for two of my poems and a short story.

I am passionate about teaching and I enjoy setting high expectations for myself and my students. In 2016 I won the National Teacher of the Year award in Jamaica, so you are in very good hands!

I am married with four children. My family and I are Jehovah’s Witnesses and we enjoy travelling, shopping and cooking.
