It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I join Clyde Erwin Elementary Magnet School as the new assistant principal. I am excited to be a part of this amazing team and look forward to continuing the tradition of helping students soar to new heights. I believe in a school environment built on strong relationships that honor everyone’s unique strengths and needs. For it is through the high expectations of respect, integrity, and hard work that we foster growth in teaching and learning.
I have been an educator for 13 years, teaching scholars in grades K through three. I also have enjoyed serving as a teacher leader, working as the Beginning Teacher Coordinator, school Data Teams Lead, grade chair, and Instructional Framework Champion at Bell Fork Elementary School.
Before becoming an educator, I worked as a journalist at major newspapers on both coasts before deciding to pursue my Master’s in Elementary Education. I am a Florida native and attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!!) graduating with a Bachelor’s in Journalism. I am currently completing my Master’s in School Administration at East Carolina University.
Jacksonville has been my home for 13 years. We moved here as a Marine Corps family and have grown to love the community. My husband is now retired, and I have two beautiful daughters who both attend the University of Florida.
I am thankful to be blessed with the gift of educating our youth, and I look forward to working with the Eagles team as we make an impact on our students’ social and academic growth.
