Ms. Rosemary McGahhey

Education: I have a BS in Elementary Education from Oswego State University in New York.  I also hold a Masters in Reading Education from East Carolina University.  During the 2013-2014 school year, I completed my Reading Recovery certification through UNC Wilmington. 

Experience: This is my twenty-first year of teaching.  I have taught third grade and I am currently a reading specialist and Reading Recovery teacher.  I have taught reading at Summersill since 2005.  I work with kindergarten, first, and second grade students.  Check out our Reading Enrichment video, which can be found under the "files" tab!

Bio: I am originally from New York State, but I have made Jacksonville my home for the past twenty-three years.  I have a beautiful daughter, who is my pride and joy, and FIVE fur babies - Binx, Kami, Basil, Kylah, and Stanzi.

  I enjoy working out, walking, doing yoga, reading, and visiting my family in my "spare" time.
