Mrs. Michele Riggs, Principal

Welcome to Queens Creek Elementary School for the 2021-2022 School Year!  I am thrilled to begin my journey as Principal of Queens Creek Elementary.

A little about myself, I graduated in 2000 from Campbell University with an undergraduate degree in Psychology.  I worked as a social worker at Onslow County Department of Social Services for 5 years before embarking on a new career in education.  I completed my licensure for Exceptional Children through East Carolina University and began teaching at Richlands Elementary in 2005. In the fall of 2009, I was asked to serve as a Technical Support Teacher / Program Specialist for the Exceptional Children Department.  Ultimately, it was this position that sparked my interest in pursuing licensure in the area of school administration.  I graduated from East Carolina University in May 2013 with a graduate degree in school administration and curriculum.  GO PIRATES! Prior to coming to QCE, I served as the Assistant Principal at Bell Fork Elementary for 4 years and New Bridge Middle School, also for 4 years.

Although I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, I have lived in Onslow County since 1986 and I'm proud to call it home.  I am married to a wonderful man, Scott, and we have two great children, Robby and Sarah.  We are also proud parents of a very spoiled dog, Zeke.

I am looking forward to getting to know and work in partnership with our staff, students, families and community to provide excellence in education for all students.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
