The Parkwood Elementary Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society was established during the 2012/2013 school year.
Each year we will induct new members in a spring ceremony. Students that will be upcoming 4th and 5th graders who have an overall grade point average of 93.0 or higher for the first three report cards of the school year and who also have no 'needs improvements' noted on their report cards will receive an application to apply for membership each spring. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the NEHS Parkwood Advisory Council, along with input from homeroom and encore teachers. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance or not via written communication from the chapter advisor, Mrs. Dedmond.
Once inducted, members are required to maintain a 93.0 or higher GPA, no 'needs improvements' noted on report cards, and have no office discipline referrals. Members meet during the school day most months and work towards completing service projects to benefit our school and/or community.
