Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Philip Hollinger
I was born and raised in Central Pennslyvania. I spent the first 18 years of my life there with my 2 brothers and 2 sisters and both parents. After High School I decided that school was not for me and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I spent the next 5 years in the Marine Corps where I volunteered as a tutor for students and between deployments to Iraq I was responsible for training new marines on our equipment. I found that I enjoyed passing knowledge down (nothing made me more pleased than hearing how well the marines I had trained performed in their duties) to others and decided to go back to school for my degree in education. I decided elementary was a little too young and knowing how I acted in high school I chose to go after a middle school classroom. I graduated with my bachelors degree in education in 2012 and began teaching in onslow county in 2013.
My favorite subject in school started out as math and by the end of school it was chemistry and gym. I also enjoyed lunch.
My Wife and I enjoy kayaking together, her leaving me stranded in shallow water with potential sharks and alligators, and then me racing to catch back up. We also enjoy paddle boating, hiking, and more importantly, laying out on the beach or just watching a movie together. We have 2 cats, 1 dog, 2 boys, and 1 girl (as I write this she is still on the way!)
My favorite sport to play is rugby, my favorite sport to watch is football (Fly Eagles Fly) and I can't stand watching golf.
