  • I grew up locally in Jacksonville after moving here right before the start of my 6th grade year when my dad was in the Marine Corps. Remaining by the coast has allowed me to enjoy the beautiful nature it has to offer, especially in the summer. I started my career in education in 2013 right after graduating from UNCW. I was a teacher assistant at New Bridge Middle School in downtown Jacksonville. I then moved to Dixon Middle to teach language arts and have been here ever since! I love the Sneads Ferry community and enjoy working in the area. I have two children of my own with whom I spend my free time. I like the beach, exploring downtown areas, fitness, trying new recipes, and reading. My favorite things about my subject area are writing, researching, and crafting media. I love showing students there are many different types of texts to explore. My goal is for students to engage with texts that allow them to connect, grow, and create their own ideas.
