Degrees and Certifications:

BA Elementary Education, Magna Cum Laude

Mrs. Linell Clark

Education

I graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina Wilmington earning my B.A. in Elementary Education (K-6) with a concentration in Mathematics and Technology.  In addition, I earned my Associate's degree with a concentration in Business Management from Pace Universty, Pleasantville, NY.

Experience

This will be my eighth year at Southwest Elementary School.  It is so exciting to be a member of the 3rd grade teaching team.  Even though I love to read and will never turn down reading a good book, I do love to teach Mathematics.  I am currently working with a cohort within the Onslow County Schools that attend ECU for a certification of graduate mathematical instruction.  In the past, I have also enjoyed teaching Sunday School and served as the VBS director for several years.   In SWE, I am a member of our school's planning team and the math planning group.  After completing the first LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training, I will be working on the second year of training with the cohort at SWE.

About Me

I live in Hampstead with my husband and twin sons.  My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to go to the beach with a good book.  I enjoy reading books written by many different authors, but I must say that the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling is one of my absolute favorites.  I am also a fan of Lois Lowry's The Giver series and anything written by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, James Patterson, and David Baldacci.  Baking cakes, cookies, and brownies is another one of my favorite pastimes and have always been known by my friends and family as the one to bring dessert whenever possible.  I love to scrapbook, but I rarely find the time to sit down and accomplish getting my planned albums finished.  I continue to thoroughly enjoy every opportunity available to further my own education; my love of learning has never faded.
