    Onslow County is located on the southeastern coast of North Carolina, one of the few counties facing directly on the ocean.  The Onslow County School System serves over 28,000 students in 43 schools.  The system has twenty-three elementary schools, eight middle schools, eight high schools, an early childhood center, an alternative learning center, a regional skills high school, an early college, and both elementary and secondary virtual schools.
