My name is Amy Perry and this is my 23rd year teaching in Onslow County. I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in English Literature. My undergraduate studies included a semester abroad to London, England where I studied Art & Culture at King's College. I moved to NC upon graduation, simply for the beach. Ohio winters are too cold! I have taught 2nd & 3rd grade at Parkwood Elementary, and previously taught at Jacksonville Commons for 6 years. I received my National Board Certification in Middle Childhood Generalist in 2004 and completed the National Boards Renewal Process in 2012. I have two daughters who have both attended PES. They both now attend Jacksonville High School. This is my 11th year as Parkwoods's Title 1 Reading Specialist. I service students in 1st through 3rd grade in the areas of reading, language, and writing. I hope to learn and grow as an educator as well as enhance students' reading experience at PES.
