Ms. Angela Shepard

I am native to Onslow County and to Jacksonville, North Carolina.  Being born from a father that was from Holly Ridge and a mother from Richlands, I typically joke around saying that you can’t get much more native than that.  From a little girl, I was the kiddo in the neighborhood that played “school” during the summer and knew that the education field was where I would end up in some capacity.  A Cardinal I am as an alumni member of Jacksonville High School.

Being a mother of 3 beautiful children, I consider each student I have, past and present, as one of my own.  I do believe that common courtesies and respect for yourself along with others plays a vital part in one’s own development and a lifelong skill that can take you far in life.  Practicing the “Golden Rule” isn’t difficult once you see the influence it has on others!

I am excited that 2022 - 2023 will be my 9th year at Parkwood Elementary!  Over the years with the County, I have had the pleasure of working with so many talented and inspiring fellow educators.  Throughout the years there has been one thing that has remained constant and that is being surrounded by these incredible people that share the passion of education and love for their students as much as I do... and to those that do know me or of me, that is saying a lot especially since I'm considered the "extra" one.
