I was raised in Onslow County and graduated from Swansboro High School. After graduating, I spent some time as an aircraft mechanic in the military while obtaining my college education.

- Associate's Degree in Paralegal Technology from Coastal Carolina Community College

- Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies from Post University

- Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security from Penn State University

While living in Okinawa, as a military dependent, I discovered my love of teaching (ESL) English as a Second Language. I continued teaching ESL online through the pandemic while living in Oceanside, California. In October of last year, my husband and I purchased our retirement home, returning to Onslow County from beautiful Pearl City, Hawaii. I joined Southwest Middle School the very next month, teaching ELA (English Language Arts) in 6th grade. This year I am excited about moving up to 7th grade ELA with our students!
