Hello First Grade families!

Welcome to our 2023-24 school year! I  am excited to be your child's teacher this year!

I am a native of Onslow County and grew up right here in our Southwest Community.  I got my start at Morton Elementary as an Exceptional Children's teacher.  I then transferred here to Meadowview as a 3rd grade teacher, where I remained for 5 years.  I then taught 2nd grade for 4 years. The following school year, I taught 3rd grade again! This is my third year of teaching 1st grade and my 14th year of teaching altogether.  I believe children learn and grow in different ways. I enjoy exploring new avenues of learning and discovering unique ways to reach my students.   One of my biggest accomplishments was receiving the Teacher of the Year award for the 2020-2021 school year!  I enjoy working as a mentor to new teachers at our school.  

 My husband is also a teacher here in Onslow County.  Together we have four children and three grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets. I love being in the great outdoors.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, hiking and camping.
