Mrs. Kimberly Walrod

Hi there!

I am so excited to welcome you to my class! This is my second year teaching, and I am thrilled to be a part of your child's educational journey. Although in my second year of teaching, I first arrived to Bell Fork Elementary School in the 2021-2022 school year as a UNCW student. I spent my 40 hours of classroom time, 80 hours of classroom time, as well as my internship/student teaching here at Bell Fork while completing my undergrad at UNCW. 

I love to have great communication with my families as the year goes on. Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or updates you need to share with me! We will be using ClassDojo as our main form of communication this school year, and I make it a point to check it each morning and afternoon, and am typically very prompt in getting back to you. Of course, if there is ever anything urgent, you are always encouraged to call the office to make sure any messages get to me quickly. 

I have truly fallen in love with teaching 5th grade. Although last year was my first year teaching, I had a familiarity with the students already since I was an intern in 4th grade, so I essentially moved up with them. This year, other than seeing a familiar face, this will be my first time with your students and I look forward to getting to know each one of them. 

In 2025, I will be celebrating 19 years married to my wonderful husband, Travis. We have two children- Charlie and Declan. Charlie just got his driver's license and he is 16 years old, going into his junior year of high school. Declan is 10 years old and going into 5th grade! When we're not at school, we love to travel and explore places we've never been. 

This year is going to be a great year and I can't wait for all of the fun we have in store!
