About Me

Mrs. Homer is a product of Onslow County Schools. She attended Silverdale Elementary, Hunters Creek Middle and Graduated from White Oak High where she was a very active participant and leader in all band courses including the Marching Vikings and musical Pit Band. Mrs. Homer attended college at East Carolina University and graduated with a bachelors degree in Music Education. While at ECU she was part of both the Marching Pirates and Sigma Alpha Iota academic music fraternity. 
Mrs. Homer started her teaching career as the Assistant Band Director at Hunters Creek Middle for 3 years and then moved on to become the Band Director at Southwest Middle for 3 years. After the birth of her son, Logan, who will start 5th Grade this year, Mrs. Homer decided to change courses and move to teaching elementary music in order to be home with her family more often. She has previously taught at Hunters Creek Elementary for 9 years. This year will be Mrs. Homer's 1st year teaching at Blue Creek Elementary. She hopes to be able to create a lasting love and appreciation of music in all of her students no matter what their future endeavors.
