Ms. Henry
Greetings! My name is Ms. Henry and I work with exceptional elementary students within the general education and resource setting at OVS. I started my college education at Carteret Community College in Morehead City and also attended classes at Coastal Carolina Community College. I then attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC for my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. I attended UNCW in Wilmington, NC for a year to obtain my degree in the area of AIG. I have also taken courses in the area of mathematics at ECU to further my education in the education of mathematics.
I am licensed in the state of NC to teach elementary students K-6, and am also licensed in Reading K-12, Exceptional Students (EC), AIG (Academically and Intellectually Gifted Students), and have some Middle School credentials. During my years of teaching I have received several awards, which include; technology teacher of the year, AVID teacher of the year, Reading teacher of the year, and Teacher of the month. I have served as a Coach for Elementary Math Counts and my students were able to showcase their math skills and compete with other students within Onslow county. I would like to sincerely thank the many parents, students, and educators who contribute to my dream of teaching students a positive and rewarding career!
I am a native of North Carolina and grew up on the Southern tip of the Outer Banks of NC.

Welcome to the 23-24 Onslow Virtual School!
Teachers will need your help to make sure students are staying on top of their work, taking notes in their notebooks, and turning assignments in. Below are ways students will work from home.
Internet-It is extremely important that students have internet access. Please contact a provider if you do not have current access to the internet or a hot spot through your cellular provider. Students can log into everything through their 1:1 icon on their laptop.
Microsoft Teams-Students should log in daily for teacher instructions and assignments. All teachers will be teaching through Teams. Teams has a “meet now” feature where teachers will be able to present on-line video lessons with students. Students will need to be present for these lessons.
*Below is a list of websites and programs that we will be assigning students to work in and they may also go to these on their own for extra practice.
Microsoft office- Microsoft office is a great program students will work with. They should log in using their 1:1 icon on their desktop. We will use Teams and 365 to post videos, power points, lessons, and collaborate with students in an online school setting. We can also create assignments, grade assignments, and utilize notebooks for all subjects and many assignments.
Clever-will give students access to many sites.
iReady/Ready materials for math. This includes math books!
CKLA/Amplify- students will using Amplify to complete ELA activities throughout the year.
