Ms. Michelle Sardinas

"Nothing beats a failure but a try!" This simple but motivating quote was shared with me by my Nana many years ago. To this day, I still live my life based on her very wise words. When I think of this quote, I remember that mistakes are the building blocks to learning and they are something to be embraced not feared. It is through the things that we get wrong or the things that we have to correct that we gain the most from, if we choose to. It is because of my Nana and her motivating teachings that I learned to view my "mistakes" as nothing less than tools for learning.

In 2017 I graduated from UNCW with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I attained my North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Elementary Education K-6 and Exceptional Childrens: General Curriculum K-12. Due to teaching being a career that does not always follow a "One size fits all" approach, I felt that it was imperative to be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to reach young minds. With that being said, I chose to research various strategies and approaches to teaching. I received a certificate for the Introduction to Montessori Practices and another certificate for Early Childhood Education.

I started my teaching career in Onslow County teaching 6th-8th grade as an EC Teacher. I then transitioned to Kindergarten-2nd grade  before moving to Craven County. I spent 2 years with Craven as a Self Contained EC Teacher. Now I am back with Onslow County and look forward to the new faces that I am going to meet and the many lessons that we are going to learn as the 2022-2023 school year approaches.
