Ms. Erica Curry

My name is Erica Curry and I will be your 2nd grade teacher.I am so excited to work with you and your child this year at Jacksonville Commons Elementary! It is going to be a year full of fun, learning, laughter, and lots of adventures! Communication & connecting with families is key in the classroom, and I cannot wait to meet you for our Open House on Thursday August 25 from 11-12:30, & from 4-5:30 pm. During open house, you will have the opportunity to meet me, fill out paperwork, drop off school supplies, & pay school fees for this upcoming school year. I thought you might like to know a little bit about your new teacher.

I have always had a passion for teaching and artwork. In my spare time, I enjoy to make custom paintings and resin work, spending time with loved ones, and spoiling my dog Jack. Jack is 5 years old and my best friend, he is the pup in the picture! Some of my favorites are my nephew Mason, Jack, my family & friends, teal, the beach, pizza, cheerleading, and many more yall will get to know throughout this school year together. I graduated from UNCW with my Bachelors in Elementary Education. My favorite sport is cheerleading, I was actually a cheerleader for 14 years with 2 of those being at UNCW (Go Seahawks!) One goal of mine throughout life is to be a positive influence any way that I can. 

This is my 5th year being a teacher, but first year at Jacksonville Commons Elementary. I previously taught 2nd grade for my first year teaching, and it is a dream come true to be teaching 2th grade again! It is my goal to instill a love for learning in my students through engagement and interactive instruction. I teach with passion and excitement so my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is very important to keep communication open between us and I promise to always respond as promptly as possible. I would love to talk with you whenever you feel the need.
