Hi!  I am one of the newest teachers in First Grade this year, but I am not new to Onslow County!  I was previously a teacher at both Stateside and Silverdale Elementary!  I taught in Duplin County as well!  I am starting my 17th year of teaching, and look forward to a very successful year!

I am originally from Bristol, Tennessee, then moved across the mountains to Asheville, North Carolina to finish my teaching degree at Mars Hill University! I am married and together we have 9 children and 11 grandchildren! We love to camp and travel a lot during our summer adventures.  We have one senior baby, Gunner.  He is our 15-year-old Corgi, Shepherd mix!  We also love hockey (Go FLYERS!) and often have disagreements about football (He is Eagles, I am Cowboys).  

I am currently finishing my Master's in Reading Literacy through UNC Pembroke, and can not wait to bring what I learn to my classroom and students.  Teaching students to read is one of the greatest gifts I can give, and that is why I strive to make that a priority.
