Mr. Alexander Clute

Hello! My name is Alexander Clute and I am your child's math teacher this school year. I am originally from Upstate New York, but relocated to North Carolina in 2009 for the United States Marine Corps. I served nine years as an infantryman, but decided it was time to move on to another chapter of life to be able to raise my son.

Originally, I had no idea what I wanted to do and began my academic career here locally. I achieved an Associate of Arts Degree with Coastal Carolina Community College, where my academics and volunteer service lead me to aim for a career as a Social Worker. While attaining my Bachelor of Social Work degree with UNCW, I was placed in a middle school for my internship, where I decided that working within the education system is where I want to be! I worked as a long-term substitute in Pender County during the 2021/2022 school year and found teaching to be rewarding in many ways. I am looking forward to working with JCMS this year! While teaching, I will be working diligently to attain my Master's of Arts in Teaching in Middle Grades Education.

Outside of work, I spend time with my family going to the beach to search for sharks' teeth, hiking, going swimming, camping, etc. I am supported by my son and fiance, but our family extends beyond human members! We are all animal lovers and have numerous fur- and scale-babies.

My overall goal with JCMS is to teach my students to enjoy math and utilize their time in school to their advantage.
