Greetings JCMS Family!

This is a little about me! I am from Currie, NC where I graduated from Pender High School, Burgaw, NC. #GoPatriots!

I began my teaching career in 2004 with New Hanover County Schools as a Career & Technical Education teacher at Eugene Ashley High School. I served Ashley High School in a CTE teaching capacity for 9 years and 1 year as an Administrative Intern and Dean of Students. After I completed my internship at Ashley High School, I transferred to D C Virgo Preparatory Academy, Wilmington, NC where I served as Dean of Students. In 2015, I joined Onslow County Schools as Assistant Principal at Northside High School for 3 years and Southwest High School for 2  years. Additionally, I served in Brunswick County.

Prior to my career in education, I worked at the New Hanover County Superior Court Judges Office, Property Management, and served in the US Navy as a Religious Program Specialist. In addition to my public education career, I taught psychology, business, and leadership courses in online and in-person college settings.

I am blessed to have an awesome husband, Rev. Dante' Murphy, who is a Math Teacher at White Oak High School, an amazing son named Kendric, two terrific bonus children, and a super adorable grandson named Carter who is a kindergarten student in New Hanover County Schools at Murrayville Elementary School, Wilmington, NC. I live in the beautiful city of Wilmington. Outside of school-related duties, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to good music, baking cakes, and watching old television shows! I love music of all genres, such as 80's Pop, 80's R&B, Latin and Traditional Jazz, Big Band Swing, Blues, Ragtime, and Contemporary Christian. I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan!

I am looking forward to further serving the students, families, and the Jacksonville Commons Community.
