Ms. Alisha Williams

Hello! My name is Alisha Williams! I live in the Dixon area with my daughter Sofia and our Golden Retriever, Maggie Moo Moo. This will be my 15th year teaching in Onslow County. Before teaching in a public school, I spent 6 years teaching at a private Montessori School in my home state, New York.

I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and Psychology from the State University of New York, New Paltz. I received Montessori Certification in Denver, Colorado. I graduated from Loyola University, Maryland with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.

  • Most of my experience as a teacher has been with elementary school children. At the very beginning of my career, I was a teacher assistant at a public school in New York for children with special needs (all ages).

Soon after, I was given the opportunity to teach at a private Montessori School for a computer software company-CA. There, I taught children from 3-6 years old (mixed-age classrooms) until they completed kindergarten. I enjoyed working at this school for 6 years. During these years, I received an AMI Montessori Certification and a Master's Degree in Education. My last year at the Montessori school I was trained as a director to open a new school in Tampa, Florida.

My next goal was to try public school as a teacher. A family member suggested coming to North Carolina. This is my 15th year teaching in Onslow County Schools. I taught for 2 years at Hunter's Creek Elementary and transferred to Dixon Elementary. Here, I taught first grade my first year and now happily teach kindergarten.
