Mrs. Heather Waters

Hello!  This will be my 18th year with Onslow County Schools. While volunteering at my sons' elementary school classroom, I realized I wanted to be a teacher.  After several years of working full time as an instructional assistant and going to college in the evenings, I completed all the coursework needed to obtain my North Carolina Teaching Certificate in 2009.  I taught kindergarten for 13 years at Clyde Erwin Elementary. Last year, I was a first grade teacher at Blue Creek.  I absolutely loved teaching first grade and working at Blue Creek.  This year, I have moved up to 2nd grade and I am excited to have another great year.

My husband, Hal and I are the parents of two wonderful young men, Avery and Satchel. We enjoy traveling to try new restaurants, visiting our sons, and exploring new things.  I enjoy the beach, hiking, coffee and spending time with friends and family.

-Began teaching kindergarten at CEEM in October 2009.

-Student teacher at Parkwood Elementary in Jacksonville during the spring of 2009.

-Kindergarten teacher assistant at CEEM from August 2007 to September 2009.

-Family Liaison during 2008-2009 school year and Assistant to the Family Liaison from 2007-2008.

-Exceptional Children Assistant at Northwoods Elementary in Jacksonville from August 2006 to June 2007.
