Ms. Shawna Ferson

Hello, Bulldogs!  I am looking forward to serving as an Adaptive Teacher this year at Dixon High.  I have worked at Dixon High for 9 years and I have served as an Inclusion and OCC teacher.  Guiding student growth and advocating for individual student needs is very important to me.  I am known for having a big heart and a defender of all our Bulldogs.  I have worked in Special Education since 2013 here in North Carolina.  I am originally from the sunny state of California.  I originally moved here to be closer to family on my mother's side and have made a home for myself in Surf City.  Outside of the classroom, I love to read and do crafts.  I am known to decorate my classroom with things I have made to celebrate the holidays.  For my education, I graduated from California State University San Marcos with an Undergraduate in Liberal Studies with a concentration in education.  I received my North Carolina Teaching License from East Carolina University.  I believe if we work together as a team, we can make this a successful year for your child.  I am excited to be your teacher for the year of 2023-2024.
