Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Melissa Moncrieffe

Born in the early 80s on the island of Jamaica. I am the filling of the oreo cookie with two brothers who fulfill the jobs of irritating and loving me, their only sister. I am blessed to still have both my parents in my life. They are my world, having been married for over 40 years, they constantly provide guidance and support for all my adventures.

My adventures have led me to spend four years working at Summer Camps in both Maine and Virginia there, my jobs ranged from Camp Counselor to Camp Nurse and Visual Arts Director.

I graduated from St. Joseph's Teacher's College with both a Diploma in Primary Education and Bachelors of Arts Degree in Primary Education, with an emphasis in Reading Education.

I am currently working on a Masters Certificate in Mathematics which has been a joy to incorporate in the classroom.

I truly believe that when students are given an opportunity to interact with math and talk about their thinking, it transforms the relationship between students and math.

The academic year 2023-2024 will mark my 9th year at Parkwood Elementary and 19th year teaching.

I live in Jacksonville with my husband and two dogs.
