News from the Board -- July 10, 2023

On Monday, July 10, the Onslow County Board of Education held a special meeting at the Eastern North Carolina Regional Skills Center. The only item on the agenda was a vote on the New River YMCA Aquatic Center Memorandum of Understanding.  

After the Board discussed various factors in the decision, including the implications of making the $3 million investment, the opportunities for students in water safety and sports, and other considerations, the Board took a vote on the MOU. The Board decided to support the Aquatic Center MOU in a 4-3 vote.
