Ms. Kristen Puzino

My name is Kristen Puzino, and I am an assistant principal of Southwest High School.

I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve Southwest High School. I have worked in Onslow County Schools for sixteen years. I have served Richlands Elementary and Stateside Elementary as a fourth-grade teacher for a total of nine years. I also served Clyde Erwin Magnet Elementary School for a year and a half as an instructional coach. I attended East Carolina University to earn my master degree in school administration with a licensure add-on of curriculum and instruction in 2018. My earlier assistant principal experience includes Carolina Forest International Elementary School and Parkwood Elementary School for a total of five and half years.

I am originally from New Jersey where I graduated in 2000 from Ocean Township High School as a triple sport athlete, lettering nine times (field hockey, swimming, and softball). I continued my academic and athletic career at Kutztown University (KU) in Pennsylvania. I studied Elementary Education while playing varsity field hockey. After I graduated in 2004, I was provided the opportunity to coach for KU. I enjoyed this experience of working with young adults. I was able to motivate them to excel in the classroom and on the field while supplying the necessary supports as needed.

I moved to North Carolina during the summer of 2007 after the opportunity to substitute in various districts in New Jersey. Through my experiences, I have continued to pride myself on working with students of all ages. I look forward to collaborating with Southwest High School students, staff, parents, and community. Please feel free to reach out to me at or 910-455-4888.
