Mrs. Melissa L. Thomas

I am a native of Onslow County and a product of the Dixon community.  I graduated from Dixon High School in 1990 and graduated with my BA in Elementary Education from UNC Wilmington in 1994.  I was a classroom teacher for 14 years, starting my teaching career at Summersill Elementary and then transferring to Dixon Elementary.  In 2011, I added an Academically and Gifted Licensure from East Carolina University to my teaching license. In 2012, I transitioned into the role as AIG Specialist in Onslow County Schools. I have been fortunate to work at Stateside Elementary, Queens Creek Elementary, Clyde Erwin Elementary Magnet School, and Blue Creek Elementary.  I am happy to return to the Dixon community, as I am working with gifted students at Dixon Elementary and Coastal Elementary. 

My husband, Richard and I have been married since 1994 and we are the proud parents of Josh and Sadie.  

This is my last year of teaching.  #2024 Retirement here I come!
