Mrs. Julie McRae-Abney

Hello Friends! My name is Julie Abney. This year I will be teaching 4th grade which is what I've taught for the majority of my career, as well as K-2 in previous years, and some middle school.  I am a product of the Onslow County School system. This will be my 2nd  year teaching at Blue Creek Elementary! Let's go Broncos!!     

I graduated from Jacksonville High School and went on to college at North Carolina Central University.  Later, I transferred to St. Augustine's University where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  Additionally, in December of 2011, I earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

The start of this school year marks 24 years in the teaching profession.  Although our nation is still facing a pandemic, I will do everything I can to make learning fun, engaging, and effective. Please know that I will work diligently to keep myself and all of the students as safe as possible, abiding by the protocols provided by the county and state. During my free time, I'm always writing and hope to become published this year! Literacy is truly my passion.
