Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Academically Gifted Licensure

Ms. Tamara Gonzalez

My name is Tamara Gonzalez. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Missouri (formally known as Central Missouri State University) in 2004. I taught in the state of Florida for one year, then moved to North Carolina. I was a stay-at-home mom with my two children for six years and then did substitute teaching in Quantico, VA before becoming a full-time teacher in North Carolina in 2016.

I started teaching at Stateside Elementary School in 2016. I taught first grade for 2 years, third grade for 3 years (including one year at OVS) and fourth grade for two years. This will be my 9th year in education and my 8th year in Onslow County.

I received my licensure for Gifted Specialist this last May and I am excited to start my new journey as the gifted specialist for both Morton Elementary and Clyde Erwin Elementary. I have worked with gifted kiddos as long as I have been teaching and my son is also identified as academically gifted. I look forward to working with students, staff and parents in the upcoming school year.
