Hi Stateside Family! My name is Kayla Caldwell and I am new to Stateside Elementary this year! I am so happy to be here as the new Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC)! I am thankful that the Stateside Family has welcomed me and I am glad to be a part of such a great team. I look forward to having a positive impact on the military students and families this school year!
I am from the small town of Waxhaw, NC which is right outside of Charlotte, NC. I moved here to Jacksonville, NC in November 2019 to pursue the MFLC job position which I am very happy that I received. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2014 and my Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2015 from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I then furthered my education and obtained my license in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I thoroughly enjoy working with children and have experience working with children as an outpatient mental health therapist and at the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) summer camp. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, watching YouTube, watching my favorite television shows, online shopping (someone help me with my Amazon prime shopping addiction hahaha! 😊), spending time with fiancé/family/friends, and baking.
Again, I am so happy to be here and have some very exciting activities planned for military students and families this year! I am also excited about helping military students by counseling them on how to cope with the unique issues that they may face as a military child. I am able to provide counsleing sessions to military students and parents by face to face (while wearing masks), telephone, and virtually. Please do not hesitate to contact me at (910)-459-0531 or by email email@example.com with questions and concerns.
