Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Chasity Thornton
I am Chasity Thornton, LMFT, a counselor with the Military & Family Life Counseling Program (MFLC). I have been part of the MFLC program since 2016, providing non-medical counseling to military children and their families. I understand the unique issues that military children face and can assist them with building resilience and life skills to deal with these challenges. Common topics discussed with MFLCs include: deployment, self-esteem, PCS, communication and social skills, friend and family relationships, changes at home, and problem solving.
I also plan to engage in activities with military students throughout the school year that will focus on celebrating what makes military service members and their families special. We will also recognize national holidays honoring service members and our nation. I am so looking forward to engaging with the students about these topics.
If you have any further questions about the MFLC program, feel free to contact me!
