Ms. Maura Carroll

Hello, my name is Maura Carroll and I am excited about being an Eagle! I grew up as a military child, which meant moving around to 5 different states in my lifetime. I have been living in North Carolina since seventh grade and call NC home. I have a very supportive family, including my parents and younger sister. I became a dog mom last summer to my golden retriever puppy, Oakley. He is spoiled rotten and loves everyone he meets.

I graduated from Swansboro High School in 2015 and then attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. I graduated from Meredith with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and with my K-6 teaching license in 2019. 

I am excited about starting my 5th year here at Carolina Forest International Elementary School. I am excited to be back in third grade after spending a year in fourth grade. Building relationships and a community in my classroom is what makes learning fun and safe. 

I have a lot of experience working with students and young children. Throughout high school, I was involved in different classes working with before-school age and school-age children. During college, I worked throughout my four years with different ages, ranging from age 3 to fifth grade students. I did my student teaching in two different grade levels, including first and second grade in Wake County.
