Mrs. Amanda Caddel

Welcome to DES! My name is Amanda Caddel.  I am so excited to be a part of the 2nd Grade team here at Dixon Elementary! I have been teaching for 10 years total - six years in Kindergarten, three years in 2nd grade and 1 year as an intervention specialist.  I am so excited about starting my third year in 2nd grade for the 2023-2024 school year!

I moved to North Carolina 4 years ago - just to live at the beach on the East Coast!  I was born and raised in sunny, southern California, but a few years back, my family moved East and I quickly convinced my husband to follow.  I graduated from California State University-San Bernardino with my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and attended another year to complete the teaching program.  I absolutely love working with the younger kids! I love seeing their excitement about school and the "light bulb" moments when they finally start to understand a concept or idea being taught.  

I am going on 10 years of marriage with my husband and we have 2 amazing children who attend Dixon as well! Outside of school, we love to do anything together as a family.  My favorite place is the beach so you'll find us there often.  My family is everything to me and I love instilling my love for teaching into them!
