Differentiation through Foldables
We utilize interactive notebooks in our classrooms and integrate the use of foldables as a way of taking notes. This has been proven to help make information more hands on and helps engage struggling learners. For more information, here is a link to one teacher's explanation of them: https://minds-in-bloom.com/7-reasons-to-use-interactive-notebooks/
Singapore Math Strategies
At DES we help students with math mastery through the use of Singapore math strategies that provide them with deeper understanding of the content taught in the classroom.
If you are interested in learning more, Singapore Math Demystified does a wonderful job of breaking down the different components.
The Leader in Me
The Leader in Me is FranklinCovey’s whole school transformation process. It teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
