Norberto P. Rodriguez (Robert), CAREER DEVELOMENT COORDINATOR
Northside High School
(910) 455-4868 ext. 37093
I am excited to be part of the Northside Monarchs as the Career Development Coordinator within the Career and Technical Education Department! I retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service. I graduated from Park University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology and graduated from Liberty University with a Masters in Counselor Education with a focus in School Counseling. I was a School Counselor with Carteret and Onslow county at the High School level and worked as a Career Transition Counselor on Camp Lejeune before I switched roles into that of Career Development Coordinator. I share time between Northside High School, Jacksonville Commons/New Bridge Middle School and the Eastern North Carolina Regional Skills Center.
WHAT DO I DO FOR YOU: Your Career Development Coordinator (CDC) is the contact for Career and Technical Education programs and course information; they coordinate career development services for students participating in CTE courses and promote CTE and career development for ALL students.
YOUR CDC IS YOUR CONTACT FOR: work-based learning, Internships, Job Shadowing, Career Events, Guest Speakers, Career and Interest Assessments, Networking, Essential Employability Skills, Pre-apprenticeships, Resumes, Job Applications, Mentors, Service Learning, Scholarships, Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), questions about the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), and offsite Business and Industry and community college and university tours.
They connect the dots for your future - your CDC "IS" the person in the Career and Technical department that you want to know in Middle and High School to help you explore your future career interest and connect you with career professionals.
