Despite the challenges that we are faced with right now, the Eastern North Carolina Regional Skills Center will be up and running for the fall of 2020.
There has never been a better time for our students to come and see our instructors and get into our shop/lab/kitchen settings for their instructional content.
It's time to get off the couch and back into school and there really is no better place to get your hands dirty while you're learning a life skill.
Kitchen 261@BurtonPark will be up and running soon after we get our students back in the kitchen. Check back frequently to see what's going on.
With the many changes we are faced with, Parent/Student Night and an Open House before school begins will just not be possible this year.
Please check back over the next few weeks to meet our instructors and see what they have to offer you in your courses in the fall and next spring.
Our summer has been spent making the Skills Center safe, sanitary and secure for the incoming students for the Fall 2020 school year.
Classrooms have been sanitized, shops cleaned and our kitchen disinfected and covered until the students return. New signage is going into place and we are getting ready for the newly announced Plan B, Option 1 scheduling.
Things will look a bit different and our day-to-day activities will be scheduled very carefully. Students will be getting much of the daily bookwork and content knowledge from their remote learning days with regular check-ins from their instructors. In that way, students will be able to maximize their shop/lab/kitchen time on the 2 days they are with us here at the Center. They must prepare for the daily experiences BEFORE they arrive so they can get the most out of their day.
August 17th is just around the corner and we are gearing up for what may become the new normal.
Continue to stay safe and healthy.
