Welcome to 5th Grade!        

My name is Charlotte Johnson and I am very excited about this new school year. This will be my 22nd year with Onslow County Schools.  I am returning to 5th grade math and science for the 2023-24 school year.  I have previously taught 1st grade for 7 years, 5th grade for 8 years, and most recently, middle school math and science for 6 years. 

I live on Emerald Isle with my amazing husband, where we spend many weekends on the beach enjoying the view.  My husband and I have four grown children.  In my free time, I like to read, walk my dog, lounge at the beach and spend time with family and friends. We also love to travel and explore new destinations. Some places I have visited are Mexico, Canada, South Africa, Costa Rica, England and many other beautiful places throughout the United States.

My passion is teaching and I strive to give all students the opportunity to reach their highest level of achievement.  I will accomplish this through effective, research-based teaching practices, collaboration with colleagues, and the ongoing use of technology. My hope is to encourage the inquisitive nature of children and teach through inquiry and discovery. Most of all, learning in the classroom should be relevant and FUN!

With the combined effort of teachers, students, parents, and the community, I feel we can create lifelong learners that are prepared for the challenges of our ever changing world.
