Hello, 3rd graders and families!

I'm thrilled to be your teacher for this exciting year of learning and growth! We're going to have a lot of fun together and create a supportive class family where everyone feels valued and encouraged.

A little bit about me: I'm originally from North Carolina, but I spent 10 years living in the Central Valley of California. I have three younger brothers, and this will be my 17th year as a teacher. I spent 14 years as a 4th grade teacher before moving to 3rd grade. 

I maintain a class Facebook page where we can stay connected, share updates, and celebrate our achievements. Feel free to join the group and be a part of our class community. The Facebook page is called Kanavel Class Additionally, I've created a private group specifically for our class this year to enhance communication and collaboration.

Outside of the classroom, I love exploring the beautiful places in North Carolina, especially the Outer Banks. Family time is precious to me, and I enjoy spending it with my husband of 24 years, our 11-year-old son, and our lively German Shepherd, Roxy.
